WASHINGTON D.C. - Plans for a 600ft monument to honor the sacrifice of Hobbiton hero Frodo Baggins have been confirmed for Washington D.C.’s capitol mall.
The aptly named ‘National Memorial for the Battle of Middle Earth’ is set to be unveiled in 2019 in attempt by the Trump administration to honor “those whom history has forgotten,” Trump said in a press conference.
“The statue will be huge, okay. It’s going to be the biggest thing you have ever seen. Believe me, I have friend’s who make statues, great friends, some of my best friends, and they have assured me that this thing will be ginormous.” He added.
At 600ft, the statue will stand taller than the Washington monument by 45ft.
“Its going to be big, it’s going to be important, the most big and most important statue ever,” said Trump when asked about its size.
Perhaps more controversial than its size will be its location. The memorial is set to replace the The Korean War Veterans Memorial.
“Korea? I don’t even know where that is? Is it a state? Who cares? The battle for Middle Earth was the most important event in world history and this little man thing paid the ultimate sacrifice.” Trump said in response to media scrutiny.
The Trump administration has also confirmed that it is currently working to make the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool heated and to add climbing holds to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.
